The
Twin Tower Engineering heat less regenerative air dryers utilizes
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology, to maximize the efficiency
of the process of drying. This technology can bring in Ultra-Dry
compressed air dew points that is even better than -100°F. These
dryers comes with features that make them highly reliable for
application in a variety of industries. They offer easily installation,
operation and maintenance free operation. With the improvement in
technology, these Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryers comes with highly
attractive features like PSA drying towers Coalescing prefilters,
moisture indicator, automatic drains, particulate final filter,
differential pressure indicator etc. A typical medium capacity Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryer works in the following manner. The two vessels that make up the Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryer are filled with desiccant material. Then, they are assembled together with inlet and outlet manifolds. As the first chamber gets into operation the other chamber is regenerating using pressure swing adsorption method. A little quantity of compressed dry air helps in for regenerating the saturated desiccant beds. This is done by expansion of the dried air from line pressure to atmospheric pressure and by eliminating water adsorbed by the desiccant material.
Specifications of Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryers:
Generally the specifications of the Air Dryers are product specific. However, the table shown here illustrates the specifications for a particular model of a Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryer:
| Dewpoint (1): | -100°F ( -73°C ) |
| Max. Dry ( outlet ) Air Flow Rate for Specified Dew Point (1): | |
| Inlet Pressure 125 psig | 12. 0 SCFM (340 lpm) |
| Inlet Pressure 100 psig | 10. 0 SCFM (283 lpm) |
| Inlet Pressure 80 psig | 8. 3 SCFM (235 lpm) |
| Inlet Pressure 60 psig | 6. 5 SCFM (184 lpm) |
| Air Loss for Regeneration (2) | 2. 5 SCFM (71 lpm) |
| Min / Max Inlet Air Pressure: | 60 psig / 125 psig |
| Max. Inlet Air Temperature (3): | 78°F (25°C) |
| Pressure Drop at Max. Flow Rate: | 8 psi |
| Inlet / Outlet Port Size (female): | 1/4" NPT |
| Electrical Requirements (4): | 120 VAC/60 Hz. |
| Shipping Weight: | 50 lbs. (23 kg) |
| Dimensions: | 15"W x 41"H (38 cm x 104 cm) |
However the following points need to be taken into account while discussing about Specifications.
- Dew points are sure to be lower than specified at lower rates of air flow.
- Total air necessary = process demand (up to the maximum dry air flow rate) + air loss during regeneration.
- Outlet dew points are bound to increase when the inlet compressed air temperatures rises.
The Regenerative Desiccant Air Dryers have a wide range of use in different field from paint industry to Robotics. Some of the more popular usages include the following:
- Pneumatic Tool Stations,and Instrumentation
- HVAC Systems
- Purge Electrical Boxes
- Lasers
- Blanketing Moisture Sensitive Materials
- Spray Painting
- Dry Boxes
